Tanween Design Programme 2017 - 2018

As part of its long-term commitment to supporting locally-based designers, Tashkeel annually selects designers from an open call for the Tanween Design Programme. The programme supports designers to develop a range of products that work towards defining a production process, design and aesthetic that responds to the Emirates. Limited edition products by the participating designers are available under Tashkeel’s product label, Tanween. Graphic designer Hala Al-Ani, interior designer Alya Sultan AlEghfeli, artist Myrtille Labrune-Ronteix and interior and furniture designer Renad Hussein will create new limited edition products through a nine month long intensive programme that includes labs, workshops and collaborations with established and respected international and local mentors. Fi Scott and Helen Voce from Make Works Scotland have both participated in the programme as mentors. The products will launch under the Tanween label in March 2018.
