Production Specifics
Roger works with a range of intricate processes, including turning, sanding, finishing, carving and sawing. He makes a concerned effort to work with the type of wood chosen, and respond to it's natural qualities. The time it takes to make a bowl is dependent on the type of the wood (green or seasoned, straight grained or twisted), the intricacy of the design and the size required. The actual shaping can be relatively quick in relation to the rest of the process, and so each product differs and it is best to consult with Roger of timescale.

Company History
Roger has adored working with wood his entire life, from making wooden items of furniture for his family to discovering the process of wood turning at the age of 30. Roger is fascinated by how you can work into wood to reveal its beauty, and how no two pieces are the same. He sources his wood carefully, often from free standing local trees which produce wood which has warped, spalted and/or twisted. Roger is surrounding by local woods at his farmhouse in Derbyshire and so this allows his to work with wood which might be warped, coloured through fungi or twisted due to where it has grown. These features mean that he can reveal aspects of the wood's history and growth within his craft and create something truly unique.
