Company History

The Smallprint Company is a husband and wife team (Hannah and Chris met in the print studio at university!). After several years in commercial print and publishing, they bought their first tabletop top press Adana and started producing greetings cards which they sold at craft fairs. People started to approach them for small commissions; prints and invitations and it grew from there. After a year of working from home, Hannah and Chris took on a studio at Banks Mill in Derby, an incubation unit supported by the University of Derby. In the summer of 2016 the studio could no longer contain them and all the machinery and they moved into the current space at Friary Villas in Derby. Here, The Smallprint Company have been able to set up not just a studio but a gallery and workshop space too.
