Production Specifics

Out of the Blueprint offer Risograph Printing. Risograph printing is a low-cost, eco-friendly print process from Japan. Riso prints one colour at a time, so it doesn't print full-colour photos or glossy magazines, though colours can be printed on top of each other to create a layered image. They don't have a minimium order number, but Risograph is best for larger print runs (20+ copies). Riso prints up to A3 size and the available colours are black, blue, red, green and fluorescent orange. As a pricing example, 100 A5 flyers is £16.

Company History

Out of the Blueprint was set up in 2015 in the old Drill Hall in Leith, Edinburgh. Out of the Blueprint is a Social Enterprise set up by Out of the Blue Arts & Education Trust as part of the Artcore Youth Arts Project. Funded by Creative Scotland's Time to Shine initiative, they aim to provide training and employment for young people, and to support them to self-publish their own creative projects.
