Skye Weavers

Skye Weavers weave tweed, scarves, throws and other woollen products using a Griffith Rapier Hand Loom, which is powered by a bicycle pedal. The biggest part of our business comes from direct sales through our own shop and website, but we also like working on a limited amount of special commissions. We only work under our own brand and label. We have completed a number of commissions for hotels, specialist retailers and individuals. Our ideal customer for a special commission is somebody who would like to have a design specific to themselves. The minimum warp length for a special commission is 30m, which could be tweed, scarves (30m would give you about 75 scarves) or throws (30m would give you about 15 throws). Ideally come with some ideas and sketches and we will work on the design together. A basic understanding of the process is fine.
