Production Specifics

Typical clients range from large corporations to small designers with a couple of pieces per year. Specific finishes can be produced for clients if required. Currently a wide range of processes exist, such as fringing, knotting and darning up to 2.5 metres wide and drying up to 3.5 metres wide. Teazle raising and rippling is also available for cashmere and mohair. Specific finishes: Flameproofing to test standards (Zirpro), Teflon, Fluorocarbon, Resin treatments, softeners, anti-pill and anti-microbial treatments, High temperature decatising, Rotary pressing. In addition clients can have fabric (wool, cashmere, mohair, cotton) piece-dyed or bleached to specific colours. There is a laboratory dyeing facility for colour matching and testing. Full examination is completed to specified standard, rolling in full and half width, bailing, packing and despatch.

Company History

Schofield Dyers & Finishers was founded in 1958 as a specialist commission finishing facility to service the thriving tweed business of the local weaving mills. They now process a wide range of fabrics in addition to wool, including cashmere and mohair. We are also able to offer certified organic finishing and dyeing.
