Production Specifics
The workshop provides space so that designers can access facilities to produce woven pieces themselves. A residency programme is also in place for those wishing to deliver longer term projects, alongside training and educational programmes for the general public and those interested in weaving. In 2016 Global Yell introduced a production service producing short and medium run cloths starting with minimum orders of 10m.

Company History
The organisation was formed after a donation of specialist weaving equipment and tools by the Ann Sutton foundation. This was then used to build up a resurgence in weaving skills and expertise across Shetland. The centre is run by Andy Ross, who grew up in Zimbabwe and has specialised interest in weave and knit.
