Production Specifics

Flux Laser Studio work with a variety of customers, from first year students through to Turner Prize winners, artists, designers, crafters, small manufacturers and architects. An example is Christine Borland and Brody Condon's work for Edinburgh International Art Festival 2013. No previous knowledge is required and digital design/ file drawing in Adobe Illustrator and CAD is carried out if required. They work without chemicals. On site: Laser cutting up to 900x1200mm, CNC up to 1.2x1.2m and vinyl plotting up to a width of 1.2m. Off site: Laser Cutting up to 1.4x2.8m and CNC up to 1.4x2.8m.

Company History

Flux Laser Studio is a specialist laser cutting, engraving and CNC facility in Glasgow's creative hub, The Whisky Bond. Set up in 2012 by GSA Sculpture graduates, Alice Jacobs and Phil Longstaff, to provide a bespoke service to creative practitioners from the initial ideas, file drawing and prototypes through to final production. Machinery has expanded since opening from a 600x900mm laser cutter, adding a further 600x900mm laser machine and a 1200x900mm laser machine, a 1.2m Vinyl Plotter and 1.2x1.2m CNC Router.
